Acoustic Fingerprint

Acoustic Fingerprint is a heritage and spatial-audio project built around capturing the true acoustic character of real venues — recording how a room actually sounds, then making that character usable again inside a studio environment. At the centre of the project is a VST plugin that loads a digital twin of a captured venue and lets you shape reverb and space using the room's own acoustic fingerprint, rather than a generic algorithmic reverb model.

Inside the plugin

The plugin is built in JUCE and centres on a 3D venue-walkthrough view — a digital twin of the captured space that you can move through directly inside the plugin window, using a joystick control to navigate the model. Alongside the venue view sits a control panel with six knobs governing the reverb and spatial character being pulled from that venue, plus a file loading and selection section for switching between captured digital twins.

Digital Twin Loader

Load and switch between captured venues, each carrying its own acoustic fingerprint.

3D Walkthrough

Navigate the venue's 3D model directly inside the plugin using a joystick control.

Reverb & Space Controls

Six knobs shape the reverb and spatial character drawn from the loaded venue's acoustic profile.

Hardware Controller

A dedicated physical MIDI controller is in prototyping, built to mirror the plugin's control layout.
